DR. SCOT S. SUNBURY
DVM
Dr. Sunbury comes from a family of Veterinarians. Dr. Sunbury graduated from Purdue University with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. He has been providing veterinary services for more than 25 years. After graduating he worked in Temple before moving to Austin. His first Clinic was Renaissance Veterinary Clinic, which was part of PetExpo. Dr. Sunbury moved his practice to the Market at Wells Branch in 1992, where he remained for 10 years. In 2003, the Sunbury Veterinary Clinic opened its third location at the corner of Parmer Lane and North Mopac Expressway.
Dr. Sunbury’s practice has continued to grow over the years. He has been the proud owner of several English and French Bulldogs throughout the years and gained the well-deserved reputation as the “Go-to Bulldog Expert”, because of his extensive knowledge and experience with the particular needs of these breeds. Hobbies for Dr. Sunbury include movies, good Mexican restaurants, and spending time with family especially his nephews.
DR. SUSAN WAAGE
DVM
After a 10-year career in Chemistry (research and teaching), Dr. Susan Waage received her DVM degree from Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1994, after which she moved to Texas to be near her family. After a brief position in Longview, Dr. Waage moved to the Austin area. She joined Dr. Sunbury’s practice as a relief and part-time associate in 1996 and has worked in practice on and off since then. Dr. Waage currently has two dogs (Henri, 14 years old, and Greta, 5 years old), both Chihuahua/Dachshund mixes. when she’s not working, Dr. Waage enjoys doing crosswords and other puzzles, reading, sewing, gardening, and traveling whenever possible.
DR. SAMANTHA TAYLOR
DVM
Dr. Samantha Taylor, DVM, has been an integral part of the Sunbury Veterinary Clinic for nearly two decades.
Dr. Taylor completed her undergraduate studies and earned her DVM degree from Auburn University in 2002. Her professional interests lie in the areas of preventative medicine, nutrition, and dermatology. Outside of work, she has a busy family life with a husband, three kids, two geriatric dogs, two cats, and a flock of chicks and chickens. When she’s not at the clinic, you can usually find her shuttling her kids to various activities, training for marathons, exploring new destinations through travel, or engrossed in a good book.
DR. KELLY KORTH
DVM
Dr. Kelly Korth, a Nebraska native, earned her DVM from Iowa State University. After a year of practice in Minnesota, she ventured to Hawaii’s Big Island, where she dedicated six years to shelter medicine and the conservation of native bird species through her work with the Hawaii Wildlife Center. In addition to her thriving career, Dr. Korth is a loving mother of two, Nolan (3) and Mila (2). Her personal interests revolve around nature, including hiking and birdwatching, as well as yoga. She also cherishes family adventures, live music, and exploring the vibrant city of Austin.
In her professional life, Dr. Korth’s passions span a wide spectrum, from soft tissue surgery and dentistry to advocating for spaying and neutering, wildlife medicine, and teaching. Her impressive career achievements include spaying and neutering thousands of animals to combat pet overpopulation on the Big Island. She boasts diverse experience in shelter medicine, mobile spay/neuter initiatives, and caring for pocket pets like rabbits and guinea pigs. Furthermore, Dr. Korth is renowned for her mentorship, nurturing the growth of veterinary technicians, students, and recent graduates.
DR. ROBERT RHYNE
DVM
Dr. Robert Rhyne is a seasoned veterinarian who earned his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University in 1984. After practicing for eight years in Florida, he returned to his home state of Texas in 1992. Dr. Rhyne served as a practice owner for an impressive 15-year period and currently lends his expertise as a guest veterinarian at various clinics. He contributes his skills to Sunbury Veterinary Clinic twice a month. In his personal life, he shares his time with his wife and two grown, married children, and he finds enjoyment in surfing, traveling, and fishing.
